Bridal FAQs

Frequently asked questions made by brides who have previously purchased their bridal outfits from Ekta Solanki.

Why do I need to make an appointment?

An appointment is required to ensure that either, Ekta herself, or her senior consultant are available to meet with you personally. All appointments are one on one which is why an appointment is necessary. Ekta splits her time between London & Delhi and therefore her London appointments are pre arranged.

Do I need to prepare anything before my appointment?

We encourage our clients to do some research before booking an appointment with us. This may include visiting other stores, designers and researching looks on social media. This will give you a better understanding of the bridal service we offer and the quality of our outfits.

What should I bring to my appointment?

You may bring any inspiration you have gathered for your bridal outfit., this may be in the form of images, colours or fabric swatches. You may also want to bring in the jewellery you wish to wear with your outfit as this will help us in designing an outfit that compliments it.

Who should I bring to my appointment?

We suggest you limit the number of people you bring to your appointment to no more than 3 people. These should be people whose opinion you value and trust.

How long will my first appointment take?

We generally spend one hour for your first consultation, but this may be longer if you are looking to have two or more outfits designed.

What is a bespoke bridal outfit?

Each bridal outfit is specially custom-designed for each bride. We do not sell our bridal outfits off the peg.

How far in advance should I order my bridal outfit?

We advise our brides to order their bridal outfit at least six to eight months before your wedding date as all outfits are special-order.

What are the price ranges for your bridal and no bridal outfits?

The starting price for our bridal collection is £3,000. Our non bridal outifts starts at £1,200.

Do you design outfits for the groom?

Yes, we do design outfits for the groom. We believe that it is important that the bride and groom compliment each other on their special day. We design the entire look for the groom. This includes the sherwani, the kurta & pyjama, matching handmade jooties, the palla and the turban (if required).

What is the starting price for your grooms wear?

The starting price for our bespoke grooms wear is £1,500.

How many fittings will I need?

We will contact you for your first fitting which will be on a toile/ mock up first. There after, you will typically require two or three fittings before your final fitting.

I am hoping to lose weight before my big day, will this affect my outfit?

We always take into consideration that every bride wants to tone up or lose those extra pounds before their big day. We ensure that we do another toile/mock up fitting closer to the time when the final outfit is being finished. We monitor your weight loss progress throughout the process.

When can I take my outfit?

Following your final fitting, we will steam & pack your outfit to be sent out or taken home.
